Six full-time NHLA Certified lumber inspectors examine every piece of raw hardwood during the first critical phase of the grading and sorting process at Maley & Wertz.

Our inspectors use a hands-on method called "walking the chain" to guarantee the highest quality product possible. After grading and sorting, the lumber is restacked in eight air-drying sheds before it enters the kiln drying process.

When requested, Maley & Wertz offers grade mixes, color sorts and width sorts for specific customer needs.
