Arthur W. Klipsch
Art has been a part of Maley & Wertz' growth and success for some 25 years, positioning him as an effective company leader. He has helped forge many long-standing client relationships based on uncompromising product quality and an unwavering commitment to customer service. Dedicated to responsible forestry practices and energy-efficient operations, Art is a member of the Kentucky Forest Industries Association and a past board member for the Indiana Hardwood Lumber Association. He holds an MBA in finance and accounting from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and a bachelor's of industrial engineering from Georgia Tech.Contact >
J. Claude Wertz, Jr.
A part of the Maley & Wertz team since 1959, J. has worked in most phases of the operation -- principally in sales, kiln drying and dimensional mill operations. He served as company CEO from 1964 to 1988. J. is an honoray life member of the Indiana Hardwood Lumber Association, for which he served as president in 1963. He earned a bachelor's and a master's degree in geology from Vanderbilt University, where he received the Founder's Medal in 1955 for highest honors in the College of Arts and Sciences.Contact >
Michael F. Powers
As general manager at Maley & Wertz, Mike knows well every aspect of the company's operations. Armed with knowledge gained through 20 years in the industry, he takes a special interest in the integrity of Maley & Wertz products and the skill and commitment of its workforce. In 2011 Mike will conclude six years as a member of the board of directors for the Indiana Hardwood Lumber Association (IHLA) and he is slated to serve as IHLA president in 2012. In addition, Mike is a board member for the Hardwood Federation and the Hardwood Federation Political Action Committee and a member of the Ohio Valley Lumber Drying Association. A retired U.S. Army Captain - Field Artillery, Mike holds a bachelor's degree from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.Contact >
Domestic & Export Sales
Philip conducts kiln dried lumber sales and is manager of export sales at Maley & Wertz. His knowledge has been acquired through 33-plus years in hardwood lumber and wood products industry. Philip's experience includes seven-plus years as a wood machine operator, eight as a hardwood lumber grader, two overseeing grade log and veneer cutting operations and seven-plus in domestic and export lumber sales and purchasing. He has served several years on the board of directors and executive board for the Indiana Hardwood Lumber Association and in 2004 Phillip served as the organization's president.Contact >
